Lost And Found
Found this bunch of paper some day ago.
Songs/poems/ideas/thoughts I started to write down, drafts, lyrics with or without melody. All written between 1995--2000, during my most creative years. I don't even remember how the melodies go for most of the songs.
Here is enough material for at least an album. ;-) I guess I have to dive into these someday and see what I can use and reuse.

This Year's Last CD Purchase
Had no idea who this guy is, but after a few seconds listen at the first songs I decided to buy the album. Style and genre? Singer-songwriter, a little-little bit soul. What else could get me hooked in a few seconds?! The song ' When Will I See Your Face Again' has been frequently used by 3 for one of their commercials in Sweden. Scott's voice reminds of Adam Levin from Maroon 5. This album will close my 2007 year of shopping.
Other great artists and their albums I bought/discovered this year:
* A Fine Frenzy - One Cell In The Sea
* Brandi Carlile - The Story
* Justin Hines - Sides
* Vienna Teng - Dreaming Through The Noise
* KT Tunstall - Drastic Fantastic
* Newton Faulkner - Hand Built By Robots
* Pat Monahan - Last Of Seven
* Ross Copperman - Welcome To Reality
* The Shins - Wincing The Night Away
* Amy MacDonald - This Is The Life
* Paolo Nutini - These Streets
* Tristan Prettyman - Twentythree
* And more...
Well, have a happy new music year!!

Disneyland
Tired of malls and shopping we had three options today - stay at the hostel, go to Ocean Park, or go to Disneyland. To stay at the hostel was not really an option. Ocean Park might have some new rides but we've been there before. Disneyland is smaller than Ocean Park and doesn't have many thrilling rides but since we've never been there before we decided to go there.
Disneyland is located on Lantau Island so we had to take a 40 minutes MTR ride to get there.
Disneyland is quite small and is divided into four parts - Main Street USA, Adventureland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. Each with its own theme. It's worth a visit.
We will be heading back to Sweden tomorrow so we have to plan how to pack our suitcases the best ways tonight. Maybe there will be some time left for me to buy a karaoke machine. ;)

Po Lin Buddha

Today we went to Lantau Island to see the majestic Po Lin Buddha, who's sitting on top of a hill (more than 250 steps up) facing south. Inside the Buddha is a white (aka bone) relic. We learned that there are three kinds of relics - white (bone), black (hair), and red (flesh).
Anita Mui (may she rest in peace) rests inside the Buddha statue.
We had vegetarian food at the monastery. We got a lot of food and it tastes good.
Lantau Island offers a scenic nature and is a beautiful contrast to the noisy and smelly concrete inner city of Hong Kong.

Heavy?!
OK, the suitcase feels a little heavy, but I swear, there is almost nothing in it. I can't understand they put the heavy tag with written "30 kg" on it. That means 6 days in Hong Kong with no shopping for me!!
Anyway, we have just landed in Hong Kong. We and Stefan went separate ways this morning without a chance to say good-bye to each other. We went to the airport together but we had to take different immigrations due to different gates. Our immigration was slow and overloaded so we had to run to get our VAT refund immediately after the immigration. And then we ran to our gate only to find out that they had to change both gate and aircraft. 50 minutes delayed and then we were finally up in the sky.

Temple Hopping
On our last day in Bangkok we went temple hopping. We went to Wat Pra Kaew (Emerald Buddha), Grand Palace, and Wat Po (Reclining Buddha). Visitors were asked to pay respect to Buddha by wearing garments that cover the body, i.e., no mini skirts, no see-through, no shorts. T-shirts and sandals were allowed though. In Wat Pra Kaew and Grand Palace we had to borrow long pants and sarongs respectively.

Ancient City
We're back in Bangkok now. We landed late last night.
We went to Ancient City earlier today. It's located a little bit outside Bangkok and considered Bangkok's cultural heritage park. The park is quite big and it has the shape of Thailand. It is full of reconstructions of old palaces, historic buildings, statues and more. We borrowed a bike to get around in the park.
I'm quite red in my arms now after a day in the sun and I was stupid not to wear sunblock.

Singapore

We've been in Singapore a couple of days now. We are staying at a hotel in Little India.
So far we have been to Orchard Road twice. It rained heavily yesterday when we went to the Esplanade and Merlion Park. Some of us got all wet so they had to buy new clothes ASAP.
We're at Sentosa now. It rained a little during the morning and on our way to Sentosa but luckily it stopped raining when we came to the island and now it's full sunshine.
In general it is quite cheap to eat in Singapore. You get bigger servings in Singapore compared to Thailand. Shopping is expensive here. Even crap European and American brands like Top Shop and The Gap are treated like high-class brands.
We are heading back to Bangkok tomorrow. Stefan will be joining us one day this Saturday on his way to The Philippines on a business trip.

Good Boys Go To Heaven, Bad Boys Go To Pattaya
We've been to Pattaya yesterday. We took a bus from
Bangkok to Pattaya. It was actually the same bus line
we took to Sriracha the day before yesterday. We stayed
at a quite nice hotel with two swimming pools.
We hired a private guy who took us from Pattaya beach to
Ko Larn beach. He stayed with us all the time and waited
for us while we tried the different beach activities - jetski,
swimming etc. He even let us drive his boat. Cool! I must
get myself a boat when I'm home. ;)
We didn't like Pattaya at all. At the beach walk, you can see
a lot of Thai women waiting for some western guy to pick them up
and indeed there are a lot of western men walking around with
a Thai woman. Disgusting we think. "Good boys go to heaven. Bad
boys go to Pattaya" they say. It is 100 % true!
Anyways, we are back in Bangkok now...

Sriracha Tiger Zoo

Today we went to Sriracha Tiger Zoo. After a 2-2.5 hours ride with taxi, bus and tuk tuk we finally came to the zoo. We took pictures together with baby tigers, baby crocodiles, monkeys, snakes and wallabies. We also went to some animal shows.
The trip home was quite interesting as we had to sit on the back of this kind of taxi that looks like a mini truck without anything covering the sides.

Late night 2007-08-21
We went to Siam Discovery Center and Siam Tower in the
neighbourhood of Reno Hotel and MBK for some shopping
and then back to MBK for lunch. After that we went to
the tailor for our first fitting. It was around one o'clock
by that time and we went into some traffic. The first taxi
driver refused to drive us with taximeter and asked for a
flat fee of 150 Baht. It usually costs around 45-50 Baht to
get to the tailor from MBK. After some complaints from us,
he let us go and we took another taxi instead.
Everything showed up to be quite good with our garments
except for some small adjustments here and there. We
spent like an hour there. Really looking forward to see
how the final results will look like. We will have our
second fitting soon.
After the fitting we took a taxi to Big C - another
shopping mall. We went into some traffic this time again.
After Big C we went to Central World Plaza. That mall is
quite huge and very high class. We spent most of our day
there shopping. We had a Japanese dinner there too.
We just came back to the hotel. It was raining again when
we were heading home. I think we will go to Sriracha tomorrow.

Early morning 2007-08-21
It's either mosquitos or fleas in the bed. We all got bitten
at the tailor's yesterday, but last night we got some more
bites. Our first day in Bangkok was spent strolling around at
MBK and Siam Discovery Center. MBK is best described as a 7
floor mall full of indoor stalls with 95 % piracy stuff. Not
really my cup of tea. We didn't buy anything there. The food
is really cheap and very delicious though. Siam Discovery
Center is the kind of mall we are used to in the west with high
class shops like Armani Exchange, Calvin Klein and DKNY.
We spent two hours at the tailor's yesterday choosing fabrics
and getting measured. We hope he knows what he's
recommending. We are getting there for our first fitting later
today.
The rain poured down for an hour yesterday. Luckily we made it
home to the hotel for a rest before it happened.
Taxi rides are very cheap here so there is no meaning spending
time in the Skytrain unless there is a lot of traffic. We haven't
tried the Skytrain yet though, maybe later today.

Earth Intruders
Hm... Björk and Timbaland. Must say that I was
a little bit sceptic at first, but after the first
listen to the songs I must say I've fallen for it.
Love every Björk video and this one is no exception.
I've heard that Timbaland will collaborate with
Celine Dion! Hm.... This guy is everywhere!
Very, very sceptic to this collaboration.
Also recommends:
* Björk - Innocence
* Björk - Hope
* A Fine Frenzy's debut album "One Cell In The Sea"

Oh oh, the sirens sang so sweet
And watched the sailors going down
Oh oh, you talk to me in siren song
Yeah, anyone would drown
Anyone would drown
All the ships go down
Following the sound
All the ships go down

Two Terrific Songs
Timbaland featuring One Republic ~ Apologize
Apparently this song is 4 years old. Timbaland only added some new beats and some "eh eh" to it. This is the original One Republic video but with the Timbaland remix in the audio track.
And here is the original version.

Copied from www.jasonmraz.com:
Things I knew about Sweden prior to this trip:
The Swedish Chef
Swedish Massage
Swedish Fish
My Aunt Dodo's Swedish Meatballs
Ace of Base
Things I now know about Sweden:
No Grown-ups
No Nighttime
Nothing but Hotties
I asked the hottie at catering yesterday what the meat selection was in the buffet line. It could've been turkey, pork, chicken, beef or something else entirely. It was cut into thick generic slices and was the shared color of all aforementioned fleshes. She touted off something in Swedish across the room only to return my gaze with the accented answer, "It's Meat." Sounds good. I¹ll have that.
...
So I mentioned there's no Grown-Up's in Sweden. It's true. Only teens, 20's and 30's and everyone seems eager to hook-up. I think it has to do with the sun never being too far away. Imagine the last 20 minutes of a gorgeous sunset and then make it last for three hours and that's what's happening up here. It is said that the first and last light of day is the best to ingest. You can actually look right at the sun in these moments and take the rays right into the pupil absorbing the nutrients directly. Can you say fountain of youth? Okay, that might be a bold guess, but it certainly helps the highlights. I don't think we've ever played before a more blond ambitious audience.
Sweden feels like a forgotten land to those of us who travel mainly via the jet and gulf streams. Way up here the rules are applied differently apparently. For starters, if you want to hop over the turnstiles in the subway you can. There are no authorities to control the free travel. This makes the underworld look and feel like a mall. Every hipster in the hook-up culture is down there, on the move and ready for action. But it isn¹t an aggressive world. Because everyone is hot, they don't know the difference. Ego appears reduced and everyone is friendly.
If that don't beat all, my hotel serves up the best soft serve ice cream in the history of soft serve, 24 hours a day. In the US, an ice cream machine in a hotel lobby would shut itself off by 10pm at the latest. But here you can grab a delicious cup before bed at 4am, long after the sun has already returned to the skies. Blackout curtains were also invented here apparently.
I've only been here less than two days. But Today I'll finally get out of concert and hotel mode and finally see some sights, perhaps some of the 2000 islands that make up the archipelago of Sweden and Stockholm, or maybe I'll cruise by city hall and snap a shot of where they give out the Nobel Prize every year. I also need a shot of me in a Viking ship with a funny helmet on.
